2024 Jeep Patriot Rumors and Expectations

Among Jeep enthusiasts, Patriot is a pretty familiar moniker, which was used for a couple of different purposes. The last time it was in use was in the compact SUV that carried that nameplate. Of course, we are talking about the Jeep Patriot, which was in production until 2015. It had a lot in common with the previous generation of Jeep Compass. Eventually, the Compass was redesigned, while the Patriot was discontinued. However, this doesn’t mean it won’t come back someday. The latest reports suggest we could see it already in the next year, as the 2024 Jeep Patriot.

At this moment, we are getting different reports about this comeback. Some sources suggest that the company may bring back this model, but mainly for markets like China. On the other hand, some rumors suggest that the company could use this moniker for a new trim level in the Compass range, which would be reserved for a capable off-roader.

In any case, make sure to keep the following paragraphs with a big reserve, as they are based purely on rumors and speculations.

2024 Jeep Patriot Design

As we’ve just mentioned, there are two rumored scenarios for the 2024 Jeep Patriot. The first one would be to see a new model. In that case, we would probably see a model designed for China and other developing markets. Once again, the 2024 Jeep Patriot would share a lot with the Compass, particularly in terms of mechanics. We would expect to see the two models riding on the same platform and sharing a lot of technologies.

On the other hand, the styling would be quite distinctive. We presume that the size would be similar, but aesthetics would be adapted to the preferences of overseas drivers. The Patriot would probably look a little bit more rugged than Compass, while a couple of additional flashy details are also possible.

2024 Jeep Patriot as Trim Level

The other possibility is to see a Patriot trim in the Compass range. This would be a new trim level, which would be mostly about off-road upgrades. We presume that the overall approach would be pretty similar to the Compass Trailhawk. Namely, we would expect to see similar off-road upgrades. This would mean goodies like an Active Drive Low four-wheel-drive system, all-season all-terrain tires with 17-inch wheels, an off-road suspension system, two tow hooks, and additional skid plates. Furthermore, the Patriot would come with a couple of additional upgrades, particularly in terms of the suspension setup.

Besides all this hardware, we would also expect to see a lot of exclusive styling details, which would accentuate the model’s off-road character. This refers to certain revisions to the front, upgraded bumpers and wheels, exclusive color options etc.

2024 Jeep Patriot Engine

In the first scenario, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Jeep Patriot would come with some sort of electrified powertrain. The most probable would be a plug-in hybrid setup, which would be based on a 1.3-liter turbo-four engine. The total output would go around 240 horsepower. An all-electric version would also be a possible thing.

On the other hand, if the new Patriot is about to come as a trim level in the Compass lineup, we wouldn’t expect any surprise regarding the powertrain. We would see a good-old 2.4-liter inline-four engine, which puts out around 180 horsepower and comes coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Timothy has been an FCA enthusiast way before the two major companies merged. With an innate passion for muscle cars from the golden era, Ram trucks and anything that has a huge engine under the hood, it’s not hard to presume that Timothy is a true motorhead. On the other side, classic Italian sports cars have always had a special place in his heart, as a sense of style and sophistication is an integral part of his persona. For Timothy, FCA is a perfect match.

After owning two Jeeps I won’t go back until quality and reliability are proven to be improved. So far, the current models are still widely panned by automotive critics, especially engines, transmissions, and more. I’m not sure what’s wrong at FCA/Stellantis but they never seem to change their poor reputation. They offer some nice designs but it’s what’s underneath that counts.
