2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat – Last Lap for the Hemi Engine

Muscle cars we know will soon be gone. Unfortunately, we are witnessing the end of an era, where the huge V8 engines will be replaced with electrified powertrains soon. The new generation of Charger is expected already in 2024, with an electrified powertrain, so the 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat will represent the final model year of the ICE model. Therefore, the company prepared a couple of exclusive features, to celebrate one of the most beloved models in the history of American muscle.

These novelties will be subtle but very nice. Practically, the biggest one will be the “Last Call” plaque on the engine cover, while it’s also worth mentioning that the Jailbreak package will now be offered in all Hellcat models. The overall layout, though, will remain the same. You may count on the same design and specs, including the legendary supercharged V8 engine.

2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat Engines

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat will come with minor updates only. On the other hand, the main characteristics will remain the same, starting from the powertrain. Just like the previous model years, we will see the good-old 6.2-liter Supercharged V8, offered in three output variants.

Base versions will feature a max output of around 717 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to move this massive 4-door sedan from zero to sixty in just 3.8 seconds, which the quarter mile is done in 11.9 seconds at speed of 124 mph.

The Hellcat Redeye brings a massive power upgrade, as the max output goes up to 797 horsepower. With such a power boost, the 0-60 sprint goes down to under 3.5 seconds, while the quarter-mile time is 11.5 seconds with a speed of 126 horsepower.

Finally, there is the Redeye Jailbreak version, with 807 horsepower, as the Ultimate Charger.

All three versions come equipped with the smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat Design

Design-wise, Hellcat models are characterized by many upgrades. We are talking about suspension and chassis modifications, bigger brakes and many other upgrades that have an impact on performance. Also, there’s a load of exclusive styling details, which accentuate the model’s performance characteristics, such as exclusive wheels, color options, bumpers, badges and many more.

At the same time, the Charger is still a full-size 4-door sedan, which offers plenty of space on the insides. It is large and heavy, with a massive trunk and design that still looks pretty good, despite its age.

Further chassis upgrades are available with the Widebody package, which brings wider and stickier tires, further suspension modifications etc.

Interior

On the inside, the 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat will remain mostly the same as the rest of the lineup. It will feature a familiar design, which hasn’t changed much since the initial launch. So, you can notice a lot of outdated aesthetical solutions, but also a lot of exclusive features, starting from the Hellcat-exclusive instrument cluster that counts to 200 mph. Also, this model comes with an exclusive bucket, leather-wrapped seats, real carbon-fiber interior trim and a faux-suede headliner.

At the same time, the cabin is largely the same as in more basic Chargers. This means that you may count on two pretty spacious rows of seats, which both accommodate adults with ease. The cargo area is also pretty spacious and besides the large trunk, you can also find lots of small storage compartments around the cabin, which make this cabin very practical.

Another thing we like about this model is that it comes packed with a full load of tech and convenience features. All versions come standard with an 8.4-inch infotainment system, which is fast and easy to use. The list of standard features also includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, voice recognition, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, satellite radio, navigation etc. Additionally, you can get a premium 19-speaker audio system.

The list of standard safety features is also pretty long. It includes goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and many more.
