The company has just presented the Rampage in Brazil and we are eagerly waiting for its debut in North America. And even though the officials are yet to announce its arrival in the U.S., that’s pretty much a certain thing, because there are so many indicators. That will happen pretty soon, most likely already with the 2024 Ram Rampage and we have no doubt that this model is going to be successful. How much, it’s still hard to say but we have no doubt it will attract a great number of those who are currently considering the Maverick.
The new Rampage will have so many great things to offer, starting from an attractive design and a nice interior. Also, the company already introduced a dedicated off-road version in Brazil, so there’s no doubt that something like that will be offered in this part of the world as well. Also, we have big expectations regarding powertrain, including a hybrid version.
2024 Ram Rampage Design
As for the base design, the 2024 Ram Rampage is about to bring a design that can beat Maverick in many aspects. Of course, the first great thing about this pickup you’re going to notice is the styling. just one look and you can see a heavy influence from the RAM 1500. The front end looks very similar, just like the rest of the pickup, just in a smaller package. The pickup looks pretty rugger and that’s something we really like because it’s really hard to guess that this is a unibody pickup by only looking at it.
The aesthetics are one of the key indicators of the model’s arrival in North America. And, it’s not just about the RAM 1500-based styling – there is something even more obvious. Namely, if you look at the back end of the truck, you will notice taillights feature a pretty interesting inner design with the U.S. flag. That’s all you need to know about the probability of the North American market version.
Interior
On the inside, the 2024 Ram Rampage shows quite an attractive layout. Although a pickup, things are very car-like on the inside, and we are not thinking just about aesthetics. The ergonomics and the whole setup are very car-like, and they are all complemented by an attractive dashboard design and a generous use of quality materials. Moreover, there is also a massive 12.0-inch infotainment screen, as well as a digital instrument cluster, which will be reserved for higher trim levels.
As for the seating configuration, RAM delivered something we all expected. Just like the competition, the Rampage will also come exclusively in a crew cab layout, with two rows of seats and plenty enough space for five adults. Therefore, the cargo bed remains relatively short when compared to traditional pickups, but still quite typical for the class.
Off-Road Version on the Way
The Rampage may be a unibody pickup but it won’t lack off-road capabilities. After all, it rides on a Small Wide platform, the same one that underpins several Jeep models, including Compass and Cherokee. Therefore, it will probably borrow some off-road features. After all, the company already announced the Rebel trim in South America, so we expect the same model in this part of the world as well. At this point, details are still unavailable, but this version is certainly going to come with all kinds of off-road upgrades.
Naturally, four-wheel drive will be part of the standard equipment, along with various selectable traction control modes, all-terrain tires, upgraded suspension with off-road dampers and higher ground clearance, as well as things like locking differentials and low-range gearing.
2024 Ram Rampage Engines
As for the powertrain, the South American version was initially presented with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 170 horsepower but that unit won’t be offered in North America. Instead, we count on a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The same engine is also expected to be offered in a less capable variant in the most basic models, most likely with something like 200 horsepower.
Other than that, we also expect to see a hybrid version, but that model won’t be efficiency-focused like the Maverick Hybrid. Instead, it will be a pretty capable pickup, with the same setup as the new Dodge Hornet, as well as the Alfa Romeo Tonale. That system is based on a small 1.3-liter turbo-four but delivers quite an impressive total output that goes all the way up to 288 horsepower, which would make it the most powerful model in the class.
2024 Ram Rampage Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Ram Rampage will hit the market sometime late in the year, or in early 2024. As for the price, it’s still too early to talk about the exact number, as it will largely depend on the engine offer, standard equipment, and similar things.
