2023 Dodge Ramcharger Comeback: Rumors and Expectations

In the last couple of years, we have witnessed a couple of pretty big comebacks and if we can trust the latest rumors, we could see another one pretty soon as well. Yes, we are talking about the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger, which has been rumored long ago. This time, it looks like something is really happening and even though the officials are still quiet, we have big expectations.

At this point, the details about the new Ramcharger are still unavailable. However, we can make some predictions about the base and more detailed design characteristics. The first thing that comes to mind is the platform, which will be fully framed. Also, we expect that the new model will be pretty big in terms of size and that it will come with pretty capable engines under the hood. Of course, hi-performance off-road variants are another thing we expect to see in the future.

We believe that the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger could arrive already in the second half of 2022.

2023 Dodge Ramcharger Design

When it comes to base design characteristics, the first thing that comes to mind is the platform. We expect that the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger will be a genuine SUV and that it won’t disappoint its fans like Chevy did with the Blazer a few years ago. No, the Ramcharger won’t be a crossover, but rather a genuine body-on-frame SUV.

Therefore, we expect that the platform and most of the parts will be shared with the current-generation RAM 1500. The two models will share mechanics, including powertrain and transmission. Base models could also share suspension setup, though we expect that the high-performance Ramcharger will come with something more, with an upgraded setup with more clearance and travel. At this point, it’s still early for the details.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger will certainly come as an SUV. In terms of the size, it’s hard to talk about the exact dimensions, but we presume that the new model will stand somewhere between Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wagoneer. It will probably sit between mid-size and full-size segments and some rumors even suggest that we could see a two-door version on the offer as well.

2023 Dodge Ramcharger render

In terms of aesthetics, we don’t expect to see any surprise. The front end should closely mimic the half-ton pickup, with the same grille and headlights design. The rest of the body will come in a typical SUV manner, with a boxy shape and wagon-like body style.

The potential high-performance version would come with a lot of additional details, which would accentuate the model’s off-road character. We presume it would feature a more rugged appearance, with lots of blacked details, rugged front fascia, massive fender flares and similar things.

Interior

The close relationship with RAM 1500 is expected to be seen on the inside as well. This particularly refers to the dashboard design, which should look pretty much the same as in the popular pickup. That’s definitely a good thing, considering that this dashboard looks pretty upscale, with all those fancy materials and loads of tech features. Of course, exclusive features and technical solutions are always expected.

When it comes to the passenger space, we believe that the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger would come with two rows of seats, though it’s always possible to see the optional third row. The boxy shape will certainly ensure plenty of space for the passengers. The cargo area should be quite generous with space as well.

2023 Dodge Ramcharger Engines

Once again, we expect no surprises. So, the offer would probably start with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which puts out around 305 horsepower. Higher trim levels would come with a bigger and more capable, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which puts out around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Both engines would come in pair with the excellent 8-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission, which does a fantastic job.

Also, we believe that there is a big chance to see a high-performance version of this SUV. If it happens, we presume it would come with the super-capable 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 Hellcat engine, which powers the Ram Rebel TRX as well, with a max output of 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Dodge Ramcharger Release Date and Price

The 2023 Dodge Ramcharger is still waiting for official confirmation but many believe that the 2023 Dodge Ramcharger will arrive already in the next year. We presume that the starting price would go somewhere between 45.000 and 50.000 dollars.
