The current generation of Ram HD pickups has been around for a while and it looks like a mid-cycle refresh is on the way. That should happen by the end of this year and all variants, including the 2024 Ram 3500 Dually should come with notable updates. From what we know so far, this update will be mostly about aesthetics and new features, while the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is expected to remain the same.
All this means that the next year’s pickup will look fancier and probably come with some additions in terms of standard and available equipment. On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same and we will see a super-capable pickup once again, which offers impressive towing and hauling capabilities, along with three very strong powertrain options.
We expect to see the 2024 Ram 3500 Dually sometime in the second half of the year.
2024 Ram 3500 Dually Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Ram 3500 Dually is expected to receive a mid-cycle refresh and therefore, we presume there could be some pretty interesting updates. Of course, most of the updates would be in terms of the exterior design, where the next year’s model would come with a couple of new styling details. We presume that most of the changes would be made to the front end, where the new model would come with new headlights, a bolder grille and a more aggressive overall front-end look.
On the other hand, the overall shape would remain the same and the next year’s model would carry on with familiar layouts, with three cab styles – regular cab, crew cab and Mega Cab, as well as two-bed sizes – standard and long. In terms of mechanics, we don’t believe that this update could bring any major changes, especially those that could affect towing and payload capacity.
Interior
When it comes to interior changes, we might see some smaller revisions in terms of the dashboard design, although the overall layout would certainly remain the same. The center stack might come with a few tweaks, while there is also room for new tech and convenience features, even though the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect.
Base models will continue in a regular cab layout, with a single row of seats and a long 8-foot cargo bed. Also, there are two more cab styles, both with generous second-row seats, able to accommodate adults pretty easily.
Trim Levels and Features
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Ram 3500 Dually might bring some novelties in terms of standard and available equipment but these changes shouldn’t be significant. Furthermore, the trim level organization should remain the same, with the following models on offer – Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Longhorn and Limited.
Despite the possible updates, base models will remain equipped with essentials only. For example, the current base models come with goodies like 18-inch steel wheels, vinyl seats and floors, manual windows and other accessories, air conditioning, cruise control, Class V hitch and a small 5-inch infotainment screen. Further, higher trim levels gradually add more and more standard equipment.
2024 Ram 3500 Dually Engines
This aspect shouldn’t bring bigger changes, so the offer should include three familiar powertrain options. Base models would come with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which puts out around 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, and comes coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine is the best choice if payload capacity is your main concern, as it goes all away up to 7.690 pounds. on the other hand, the max towing capacity goes around 18.200 pounds.
The option 6.7-liter turbodiesel is available in two variants. The less powerful delivers 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, and provides a towing capacity of up to 22.670 pounds, while the max payload capacity goes up to 6.840 pounds.
On the other hand, the high-output version puts out 420 horsepower and 1.075 pound-feet of torque, which is enough for over 37.000 pounds of max towing capacity and 6.570 pounds of max payload capacity.
2024 Ram 3500 Dually Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Ram 3500 Dually will arrive in the last quarter of the year, with starting price of around 50.000 dollars.
