2025 Ram 1200: What To Expect?

Ram has just presented its new compact pickup in Brazil and it’s just a matter of time before we see something similar in North America, something that would compete with the super-popular Maverick. At this point, the officials are still quiet but unofficial reports suggest that this won’t be the same pickup as in South America. We are about to see some subtle design modifications, along with the different nameplates. Allegedly, the company won’t use Rampage or any other moniker. Instead, it will stick with the current designation policy and use the 2025 Ram 1200 name for the new pickup.

From what we know so far, things will be pretty interesting with the new pickup. Just like the Brazilian-market model, it will be a unibody pickup, but it is expected to feature slightly bigger dimensions. Moreover, we also expect to see different powertrain options on offer, while modifications in other aspects are possible too.

The new pickup is expected to arrive sometime in the next year, as the 2025 Ram 1200.

2025 Ram 1200 Design

As we already mentioned, many design solutions will be shared with the Brazilian Rampage. First of all, this will also be a small pickup that rides on a unibody platform. So, we may expect similar kinds of benefits. Of course, the new model comes to compete with Maverick, but Ram may have a few extra things to offer, something that Ford’s pickup doesn’t have.

That comes from the fact that the new 2025 Ram 1200 is about to ride on the Small Wide platform, which leaves a lot of room for off-road upgrades, which is no surprise if we consider that models like Jeep Cherokee and Compass also ride on this architecture. Ram’s pickup would offer way better off-road performance than the Maverick. It would offer a dedicated version that comes with a full load of upgrades, which may even include Jeep’s well-known SelecTerrain system with various traction control modes.

Exterior

As for the exterior design, it’s no secret that the Rampage was designed both by South American and US engineers, and that clearly indicates that the 2025 Ram 1200 shouldn’t be much different in terms of styling. The Rampage looks great indeed, with the front face that’s heavily influenced by the 1500.

As we already mentioned, one of the key differences could be the same. The Brazilian model is notably shorter than Maverick, with a shorter wheelbase. The US model might change this, and that would translate to many things, starting from the interior space, bed length etc. Still, these changes probably won’t be significant, but rather in a matter of inches. Also, some sources suggest that, besides the crew cab version, the 2025 Ram 1200 might come in a single cab layout as well, something that definitely won’t be offered in South America.

Interior

American designers and engineers participated a lot in the development of Rampage. So, we presume that many design solutions will be used for the 2025 Ram 1200 as well. This includes the cabin layout, which looks pretty nice in the new Rampage. The dashboard looks attractive, thanks to the quality materials and a good portion of tech features, which includes not just a massive 12.3-inch infotainment screen, but a digital instrument cluster as well.

As we mentioned, a crew cab version is a certain thing and we are pretty sure this model will feature two spacious rows of seats, both able to accommodate adults with ease, while the cargo bed should be around 4.5 feet long. The regular cab model is possible too, with a single row of seats and a much longer cargo bed.

2025 Ram 1200 Engines

We are pretty sure that the diesel version won’t be offered in North America. But, on the other hand, the optional turbo-four seems like a certain thing. That model should carry on with the same specs, which go around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, but that certainly won’t be the only powertrain option on offer. Base versions will most likely come with a detuned version of this engine. We expect a max output of around 200 horsepower.

Finally, we definitely expect to see a hybrid version, though this setup certainly won’t be efficiency-oriented, like the one in Maverick. No, we expect to see a pretty capable system, the same as the one in the new Dodge Hornet. That setup combines a small 1.3-liter turbo-four with a pretty capable electric motor, for a total output of 288 horsepower.

While the gas-only models would come with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the hybrid would most likely use a 6-speed unit.

We expect that the 2025 Ram 1200 will arrive sometime in the next year, with a starting price of around 25-27.000 dollars.
