Although still a pretty fresh model on the market, the current generation of Jeep’s legendary SUV already proved itself. It is the best-selling model in the class, which clearly indicates that Jeep engineers have done a fantastic job with this redesign. The new generation handles way better, it is more luxurious and also offers plenty of new technologies. But does this mean that they are done with updates? It doesn’t seem like that, because the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been rumored to bring all kinds of changes.
At this point, the officials are still quiet, but our reliable sources suggest that this model year could bring a few important novelties. Some of them could happen under the hood, but we could also see further improvements in terms of tech features and overall convenience.
With all these changes in mind, we expect that the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee will arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of 2024.
2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Design
As for the base design, we don’t believe that bigger changes could happen. Considering that the previous generation was in production for more than a decade, we are pretty sure that the current generation has a few more good years before Jeep engineers start thinking about the mid-cycle refresh. Therefore, we expect nothing but a familiar design from the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which may bring a few new details but definitely won’t change in terms of the overall design.
That’s a good thing for sure because the new generation looks really good. More importantly, it features a way better chassis and suspension setup than before, which are the obvious benefit of the Giorgio platform. The Grand Cherokee is probably for the first time engaging to drive and when we combined that with traditionally strong off-road potential, it becomes obvious why the new generation is so popular.
Interior Design
The same thing is on the inside, where the recent redesign has brought a significant improvement in terms of style, quality etc. With the current, pretty attractive dashboard design, it’s pretty obvious that no bigger changes are about to come anytime soon. No, we expect to see the same layout, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see updates in terms of new color schemes and materials.
As for the passenger space, things will, of course, remain untouched. This SUV comes with a couple of spacious rows of seats. Besides space, the driver’s seat also offers very good ergonomics and outward visibility, while the cargo area is rather OK than great. In numbers, that would be 37.7 feet of space behind the second row and 70.8 cubic feet in total. If that’s not enough for you, there is also the Grand Cherokee L, with a stretched wheelbase, additional third row and way more cargo space.
Features
This is where we could see novelties for the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Even though the current model is already pretty impressive in this aspect, there is always room for some updates. For example, the bigger 10.1-inch screen could become part of the standard equipment and replace the current 8.4-inch units that are currently reserved for the more basic variants.
Of course, other updates are always possible but we don’t expect too many changes of this kind, because the current model is already pretty strong in this field. It comes standard with goodies like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a six-speaker audio system, USB ports and Bluetooth. Additionally, you can get a 10.1-inch touch screen, a 10.25-inch passenger-side touchscreen, navigation, wireless device charging, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, HD Radio, satellite radio and a rear-seat entertainment system.
2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engines
This is where we could see some changes for the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Simply put, even though the current generation is still pretty much new, we are already missing the V8-powered high-performance variants and we have no doubt that Jeep management knows that pretty well. So, they are probably working on something new.
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the new 3.0-liter inline-six. However, with its 510 horsepower, it can hardly be a replacement for the 707-hp monster with a Supercharged V8. We presume the company could bring a new kind of hybrid setup, based on this inline-six, which could possibly bring similar numbers.
Meanwhile, base models are expected to continue with the good-old 3.6-liter V6, while most versions will rely on a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four-based plug-in hybrid with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
