2024 Jeep Wrangler: Preview, Specs, All-Electric

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will bring a lot of big novelties but, at the same time, things will remain the same. Namely, the latest reports suggest that this will be the first model year to offer an all-electric version of the iconic SUV. Still, this model is yet to be officially confirmed, as we have seen only concept versions so far. On the other hand, the rest of the lineup is expected to carry on in a familiar way, with familiar design and features. The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will continue to be one of the best off-roaders around.

With an all-electric powertrain on offer or not, the Wrangler will continue to deliver familiar design characteristics and features. This SUV is an excellent off-roader and what we particularly like about it is the impressive level of customization. You can choose between two body styles, several powertrain options, soft and hard tops, numerous trim levels etc.

We expect to see it sometime late in the next year.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Design

In terms of the overall design, we don’t expect to see bigger surprises. The current generation has been around since 2018 and we don’t expect bigger changes in the next few years. We count on the same, body-on-frame design, which brings solid axles on both ends and a full load of available off-road hardware. Speaking of the off-road performance, the Rubicon trim is particularly impressive, with goodies like locking front and rear differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tires, heavy-duty Fox shock absorbers etc.

The same thing is with interior design. We will see two familiar layouts on the offer, with two or four doors. The two-door model offers notably less but the shorter wheelbase makes it better off the road. On the other hand, the four-door version is more versatile, as it offers more space in the second row and way more cargo room.

Features

Of course, there is always a chance to see novelties regarding standard and available features but we are pretty sure that most things will remain the same in the next year. Therefore, the base models will continue with essential features only, with goodies like a 5-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. On the other hand, higher trim levels will bring lots of available upgrades, such as a 7-inch or an 8.4-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, a nine-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, extra USB ports, air conditioning, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, proximity keyless entry, and remote start.

The same is with safety features. Base models will come with a rearview camera only, while goodies like rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-facing camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control will be available.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Engines

The engine lineup should remain the same. So, base models will continue with a good-old 3.6-liter V6 unit, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A more efficient 2.0-liter turbo-four will come as an option, with a max output of around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Wrangler is also available with a diesel engine, with a 3.0-liter V6 that puts out around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

You may also count on a plug-in hybrid version, which combines a 2.0-liter turbo-four with an electric motor and a 17.2-kWh battery pack, for a total output of 375 horsepower. Finally, there is the Rubicon 392, with a 6.4-liter V8 that puts out around 471 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

All-Electric Wrangler

This is probably the most anticipated thing for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. This version would come with an all-electric powertrain and while we still don’t know the details, the company already presented two concept versions, both with the “Magneto” moniker. The initial model came with a single electric motor with 285 horsepower, while the second concept features significantly higher output, which went all away up to 625 horsepower.

Both models came with a 70-kWh battery pack and what’s interesting for both of them is that the battery is displaced in various areas of the vehicle. We presume that the production version would feature a little bit bigger capacity.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler will arrive sometime in the second half of 2023. When it comes to the price, the two-row models should go at around 30.000 dollars, while the four-door version should start at around $34.000.
