The automotive industry is going towards inevitable electrification and Jeep is already working on a couple of models that will replace the current ones that run on gasoline. From what we know so far, the company already works on a couple of all-electric models, including the electric alternative to Wrangler. However, the first model to come will most likely be a small crossover, which will succeed the Renegade and probably arrive in the next year, as the 2024 Jeep Jeepster. The exact name is yet to be specified but for the sake of this article, we will use this moniker, even though the officials are still quiet.
In any case, this model will bring electrification in a small and affordable package. This should be one of the mass-production EVs, that would bring profit to the company and allow the development of bigger and most prestigious models. Despite the compact design, this SUV should be a pretty capable machine, with a lot of great things to offer.
2024 Jeep Jeepster Design
So far, the company has been doing a great job in keeping details about this model under the radar. There aren’t many details available yet but we know for sure that the new model will compete in the subcompact segment. Moreover, spy photographers managed to take a couple of shots of the prototype, which doesn’t feature too much camouflage. Many things are already transparent and from what we can see, the 2024 Jeep Jeepster will be a mix of modern and classic Jeep design solutions.
Namely, the new model will stick with some of the Jeep’s best-known aesthetical solutions, starting from the famous seven-bar grille, which won’t be much different compared to those found in models like Renegade or Cherokee. Unlike the Renegade, the new model will rather feature rectangular headlights, while the bumper will bring a more aggressive stance, with sharper lines and a bolder overall shape. On the other hand, taillights will come with the recognizable “X” internal pattern, though the overall design seems slightly different.
On the other hand, the test mule also features a lot of modern design solutions, that haven’t been typical for Jeep models so far. One of them is the low roof that comes in a two-tone color and offers a bit of a sloping design in the back, providing a bit of a coupe-like design. Still, the overall shape seems boxy and definitely promises strong off-road performance.
Interior Design
At this point, details about the interior are still unavailable. Simply, it is still early for such details, so we can only rely on rumors and speculations. Still, the model’s expected exterior dimensions clearly indicate that the cabin will offer a relatively modest amount of passenger space, with two rows and the capacity to accommodate four adult passengers. Still, it’s good to know that the battery will be under the floor and that the passenger space won’t be compromised in any way.
In terms of interior aesthetics, we expect to see a modernistic approach, with a clean and simple dashboard design, complemented by a massive infotainment screen, which should replace pretty much all physical control. Of course, the instrument cluster should also be digital.
2024 Jeep Jeepster Drivetrain and Battery
This aspect of the 2024 Jeep Jeepster is still a complete mystery. From what we know so far, the new model will ride on the company’s new STLA Small Electric platform and should feature pretty advanced battery technology, regarding efficiency, charging speed and similar things. This is an 800-volt architecture, so we expect to see respectable charging speeds with the DC fast charger.
When it comes to power and overall performance, it’s still early for details. Still, we know for sure that a twin-electric motor configuration will be offered, with one motor on each axle, providing an all-wheel drive layout. On the other hand, base versions will be offered with a single electric motor.

We expect that the production of the 2024 Jeep Jeepster will start sometime in 2024, though we still can’t predict a more precise date. On the other hand, most sources suggest that base versions will cost around 35-40.000 dollars.
