If you thought that you’ve seen everything from the revived Wagoneer, you are so wrong. Despite all the amazing features that were introduced with the new generation, including the new inline-six turbo engine, there is much more to come. Namely, the company is also working on an all-electric version of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S and from what we can hear and see, things look very promising. The new version will be capable and luxurious, the company claims, while we hope that the asking price won’t skyrocket.
In any case, we know that the new model will come with two electric motors and that it will be very fast. Furthermore, the company promises 400 miles of range, as well as a pretty luxurious cabin. The rendering photos also show a design that includes some notable differences compared to the ICE version. We believe that the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S could arrive by the end of 2023, though the officials are still quiet about the launch date.
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Drivetrain
Of course, the main thing about the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will be its all-electric powertrain. At this point, we know for sure that this version will feature two electric motors. The officials didn’t come up with exact numbers but unofficial sources suggest a setup that includes a 167-hp electric motor at the front and a far more capable motor on the rear end, with 442 horsepower.
In any case, the combined output will go around 600 horsepower and the company claims 0-60 time in just 3.5 seconds. Of course, the Wagoneer S will feature four-wheel drive, equipped with the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, the version that’s designed for electric cars on purpose. We count on other off-road features as well, so there is no doubt that this is going to be one capable machine.
When it comes to the battery pack, we didn’t hear the exact capacity. Some sources speculate about an 87-kWh battery but that feels too small for the claimed range of 400 miles. Therefore, we are pretty sure that Jeep engineers will come up with something bigger. Also, the company produced respectable charging speeds, though, once again, we didn’t hear any numbers.
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Design
We can also see several rendering photos of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S and all of them show a little bit different design approach compared to the standard, gasoline-powered Wagoneer. The first thing you’ll notice is a little bit different front-end design. The familiar 7-bar grille design is here but they are designed in a different manner, which includes LED illumination and reshaped vertical bars.
Notable differences are present on the other end as well. This particularly refers to the sloping roof, which makes this SUV look like a coupe. Such a roofline is complemented by a massive rear wing, which makes this vehicle look sporty, in accordance with the claimed performance.
At this point, details about mechanics are still unavailable. We don’t know whether the EV Wagoneer is about to feature a different suspension setup or not, although we mentioned already it will come with lots of off-road features.
Interior
The interior design is still a mystery. We still don’t whether the dashboard is about to look the same or we are about to see a completely different approach. The standard ICE Wagoneer comes with an elegant design that combines nice materials with lots of tech features. On the other hand, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S interior may come with a little bit different look, with design solutions that are typical for modern electric vehicles.
This particularly refers to the minimalistic dashboard design, with clean lines and a lack of physical controls, with would be complemented by a massive infotainment screen. The company promised luxurious materials, so we count on nice materials and a lot of attention to detail. On the other hand, the sloping roof design definitely means less cargo space and a lower level of overall practicality.
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Release Date and Price
As we already mentioned, the officials haven’t come up with a more precise date yet. On the other hand, we believe that the new model could arrive by the end of 2023, eventually in the first half of 2024. Sources like Car and Driver estimate the starting price of around 80.000 dollars.
