Bringing back familiar nameplates from the past has become a kind of industry standard these days, especially in the EV segment. Simply, carmakers are trying to evoke memories and popularize brand-new electric models in the way, so we don’t expect Jeep to act significantly differently. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the latest rumors suggest the 2024 Jeep Comanche EV, which would carry a nameplate that was once in use for a unibody pickup truck, back in the 1980s. The new model still waits for official confirmation.
At this point, we can only speculate about the new Comanche EV, as the officials are still quiet. The most probable scenario is the one where this nameplate would be used for an all-electric unibody pickup, which would share most of its parts we the Recon EV SUV, which is also on the way, with a rugged appearance and great off-road potential.
2024 Jeep Comanche EV Design
Back in the 1980s, the original Comanche was launched as a pickup version of the Jeep Cherokee. Just like the legendary SUV, it was based on a unibody platform, which was a pretty unusual design approach, not just decades ago, but until recently. However, the recent boom of unibody pickups is characterized by both conventionally-powered pickups with internal-combustion engines, as well as all-electric vehicles.
Therefore, the 2024 Jeep Comanche EV would come as a unibody pickup with an all-electric powertrain. Considering that the company has just presented the Recon, which is an all-electric SUV, we presume that the two models would share a lot of parts.
The two models would ride on the same platform, designed for electric cars on purpose. We would see the same mechanics, while the aesthetical aspect shouldn’t be much different either. That means we would see a rugged, boxy design, which would make this pickup look a lot like the Gladiator. The overall shape and design approach would be similar, though the modern aesthetics would accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.
The front end would look the same as on Recon, while the rest of the body would be equally muscular. However, the 2024 Jeep Comanche EV would come with a longer wheelbase and with a typical pickup body style. We count on a double-cab layout, along with a decently-sized cargo bed.
Interior
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Jeep Comanche EV would probably come only as a double-cab pickup. Therefore, the cabin would come with two rows of seats and if we consider the expected mid-size proportions and a pretty long wheelbase, there is no doubt that both rows would be spacious, and adult-friendly. Behind the cabin, we count on a decently-sized cargo bed. It’s early to talk about the exact bed length but something around 5-5.5 feet would be expected.
On the other hand, the cabin aesthetics are still a mystery. We presume that Jeep would follow the latest trends in terms of dashboard simplicity, where most physical controls would be replaced with a single massive screen on the center stack. At the same time, we would expect to see a rugged dashboard design that accentuates the model’s off-road potential, as well as materials that are rather durable than nice to the touch.
2024 Jeep Comanche EV Drivetrain and Battery
This aspect is still a complete mystery. Jeep already came with two concepts of an all-electric Wrangler, both with pretty unusual technical solutions, which include things like several battery units, manual transmission etc. We believe that the 2024 Comanche EV would rather stick with more conventional technical solutions. The battery would be placed under the floor, while the transmission would have no more than a single gear.
At this point, it is still early to talk about numbers. Still, we presume that the battery capacity would be large enough to ensure competitive autonomy, which would be around 300 miles, roughly. Of course, we also count on fast charging speed with the available DC charger. When it comes to the drivetrain, we presume that the company would offer both single and dual-motor versions.

The officials are still quiet about the 2024 Jeep Comanche EV. On the other hand, rumors suggest that the new model could arrive already in 2023. When it comes to the price, we estimate that base versions would go around 50.000 dollars.
