Some pickups are much more than utility vehicles and Jeep Gladiator is a perfect example. This pickup can tow and haul, but it can also deal with any hard terrain. The 2023 Jeep Gladiator will continue in the same way, though there is a chance to see some updates. The model has been on sale since 2019 and many believe that the next model year could bring a mid-cycle refresh. Changes would mostly be visual, but we also expect to see novelties under the hood.
Allegedly, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will bring a new, hybrid version to the table. We presume it would feature the same setup as the recently introduced Wrangler plug-in hybrid. Other than that, most things should remain the same. We count on the same configurations and trim levels on the offer, while novelties in terms of standard and available equipment are always possible.
The 2023 Gladiator should arrive sometime in the second half of 2022.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Design
As we’ve just mentioned, some sources speculate about a mid-cycle refresh. If this happens, we presume that the 2023 Jeep Gladiator would come with a couple of styling updates. However, those changes would be subtle, considering the model’s classic looks. We could see a few tweaks to the front but anything more than that would be a surprise.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect would remain the same. This refers to all versions, which all offer impressive off-road performance. Even the most basic versions come equipped with a four-wheel-drive, 10 inches of ground clearance, a two-speed transfer case and low-range gearing. Additionally, you can get upgrades like 33-inch all-terrain tires, locking front and rear differentials, an electronic disconnecting sway bar, and an extra inch of ground clearance etc. The Mojave trim also packs Fox shock absorbers and offers 11.6 inches of ground clearance.
Interior
Interior changes aren’t expected. The current model already looks nice from the inside, especially when compared to other mid-size pickup trucks. The dashboard takes a lot of inspiration from Wrangler and doesn’t just look attractive, but also features good overall build quality.
The crew cab layout is the only one you can get and it offers plenty of passenger space. Both rows are generous with legroom, while the boxy cabin shape ensures plenty of headroom as well. All in all, every Gladiator accommodates five adults with ease.
Considering that the crew cab model is the only one on the offer, a 5-foot bed is the only one you can get. While that’s not bad at all, it’s worth noticing that most rivals offer 6-foot beds as well.
Features
Naturally, new standard and available features are always possible, so the 2023 Jeep Gladiator may come with some of them. For reference, the current model is pretty basic in its standard version. It comes with a 5-inch touch screen, satellite radio, eight speakers, Bluetooth, and two USB ports, manual windows, air conditioning etc. Of course, higher trim levels offer much more, starting from 7- and 8.4-inch touch screens, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, nine speakers, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, proximity keyless entry, and remote start.
Among options, you can also find a lot of safety features, such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a forward-facing camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Could Get Hybrid Version
Probably the most anticipated novelty for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator is the addition of a hybrid version. If that happens, we presume that the new version will feature the same system as the Wrangler 4xe, which features a plug-in hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, with a total output of around 375 horsepower. Also, we would expect an all-electric range of around 20 miles, roughly.
The rest of the lineup should remain the same. So, base versions will continue with a 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the optional 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel puts out around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
The max towing capacity goes up to 7.650 pounds.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Jeep Gladiator will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022, with a starting price of around 37.000 dollars.
