2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door Rumors, Expectations, Release Date

After years of waiting, the Jeep Gladiator finally arrived and first impressions are really amazing. The new pickup truck offers exceptional off-road capabilities and it also looks really amazing. At the same time, it is quitter capable in terms of payload and towing capacity. All this makes it a good choice among the mid-size competition, but the company still prepares some novelties for the next year. One of them could be the 2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door version.

At this point, the Gladiator comes in just one configuration, with a crew cab layout. The lack of configuration options is considered a drawback by many, especially if we consider the starting price of this pickup. Also, most of us were amazed by the J6 concept, which was presented last year and we have no doubt it would be a very popular version of the truck. Unfortunately, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials on this matter.

2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door Design

At this point, the only version of this pickup truck you can get is a large crew cab model. Without any doubt, this is a fantastic truck but many drivers would like to see a regular cab version in the offer. So far, such a version was possible only if you get Wrangler’s conversion kit, made by third-party companies. However, such modifications are reserved for short-wheelbase models only, so the overall utility and usability aren’t on a high level. Allegedly, this will change with the 2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Doors model.

If this version happens, we would see a pickup truck that features the same wheelbase as the standard crew cab model. This means a much smaller cabin and a much longer cargo bed. Such an approach would ensure significant improvements in terms of utility. Payload capacity would be higher, as well as the max towing capacity. On the other side, the overall styling would remain largely the same, though we are not sure about those removable doors and roof, and how all that would work in this case.

Interior

Obviously, the biggest change on the inside would be the lack of the second row of seats. The cabin would be able to accommodate two passengers only but on the other side, the cargo bed would be significantly longer. On the other side, we have no doubt that the dashboard would remain the same.

Still, we are not sure about all those features that are available in the crew cab model. There is a big chance that the 2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door version would be reserved for lower trim levels only. In practice, this means fewer options when it comes to available features.

2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door Release Date

2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door Engines

We don’t expect surprises under the hood in this case. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door model would come with familiar Gladiator engines. In practice, this means you may count on a well-known 3.6-liter V6, which in this case delivers around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. With such an amount of power, you may count on decent performances. The engine comes in pair with either 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission and our opinion, the latter is a far better choice.

We may also see a diesel version of this pickup truck. Of course, it would come with a familiar 3.0-liter turbodiesel, which puts out around 240 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door Release Date and Price

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator 2 Door model is still just a rumor, so take these paragraphs with a reserve. At this point, it’s still early to talk about price but we have no doubt that this version would definitely go under 30.000 dollars. Potential rivals are models like Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier etc.

  18. Vince Evans says:

After living thru the ownership of 2 Jeep Comanche trucks I am anxiously waiting for a 2 door version of the Gladiator Truck. But, if they make it like you suggest in your article with the same wheel base as the 4 door Gladiator I will give up on Jeep and buy the Ford Ranger 2 door with the 6 foot box. It is not ideal. I really want a 6.5 or 7 foot box like on the old Comanche. Wheel base in the 120″ range would be great.
Come on, Jeep. Look at the success of Toyota, GM, Ford and others. People want smaller mid-size trucks not the big boat big dollar vehicle you call “Gladiator”.

  19. Adventurer says:

I want one now!!!! Build it Jeep!!!!

  20. I presently own a 1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler which I love but if Jeep would produce the CJ6 two door Jeep I would be one of the first in line to buy one.
