2024 Dodge Magnum: Is It Time For EV Revival?

Dodge have was using this moniker several times and the most recent model was a station wagon, produced for just a couple of years during the first decade of this century. It was a shooting brake version of the Charger, the company’s try to bring muscle cars closer to family-oriented drivers. However, the production ended already in 2008 and these days, it looks like we could see its revival. That model would come as the 2024 Dodge Magnum and the most interesting thing about it would be its all-electric setup.

Namely, the company recently presented the next-generation Charger, with the all-electric drivetrain and many new tech and design solutions, so various reports suggest this should be the basis for the new wagon. The two models would share mechanics and most of the aesthetics, while the key difference would be in terms of the body style and the overall level of practicality.

The new wagon could arrive already in the next year.

2024 Dodge Magnum Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Dodge Magnum would stick to the same overall design approach as the previous generation. This means a wagon body style, in a combination with muscle car features. Of course, in this case, things would be notably different, due to the car’s all-electric nature. The company sees this transition as a great opportunity to offer a practical yet sporty electric car, which would be able to attract a wider range of buyers than the sporty Charger.

In any case, we expect to see the same front-end design as in the case of the Charger Daytona concept, which resembles vintage generations a lot, with a great mix of classic design solutions and futuristic touches. Of course, the 2024 Dodge Magnum would replace the coupe silhouette with something more practical, a classic wagon body, which would provide significant benefits in terms of practicality.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, the main benefit of this body style would be the additional amount of space. As you probably know, the Charger was presented in a two-door coupe variant, with a 2+2 seating configuration, while the Magnum would come with a four-door layout and much easier access to the back seats. Of course, the cargo area would be significantly larger, with a level of practicality that’s on par with most SUVs and crossovers.

On the other hand, we wouldn’t expect to see any significant differences in terms of the dashboard design. The Daytona concept presented a pretty interesting dash, which features a little bit different design approach compared to most electric cars. Instead of a futuristic-minimalist design approach, the dash features a retro design, which is complemented by a good number of modern tech features and similar things that accentuate the vehicle’s all-electric nature.

2024 Dodge Magnum Drivetrain and Battery

Of course, this aspect would be the same as in the case of the Charger, with the same configurations regarding the battery and max power. From what we know so far, the all-electric Charger will be offered in at least three variants. The base 340 models will feature 455 horsepower, while the 440 version will be good for 590 horses. Finally, we expect to see the SRT model, though the power figures are a mystery.

The 2024 Dodge Magnum would probably come in the same variants. Moreover, it would also come with all the revolutionary technical solutions presented with the Daytona concept, which would have a significant impact on the driving experience. This primarily refers to a multi-gear transmission, exhaust emulator and similar things.

When it comes to the battery, details are still unavailable but some sources speculate about up to 500 miles of range. We know that the new model will feature an 800-v architecture, so charging speeds should be pretty impressive.

2024 Dodge Magnum Release Date and Price

If we can trust rumors, the 2024 Dodge Magnum could arrive already in the next year, with a starting price of around 60.000 dollars.
