2023 Dodge Magnum: Rumors, Expectation, Release Date

For those who have been into Dodge cars for years, the Magnum nameplate isn’t a new thing. This name was used on various occasions. Initially, it was a nameplate reserved for Latin America and similar markets but the last time we saw this name in use was between 2005 and 2008. That model was heavily based on the Charger, with the main difference in terms of the body style. So, that’s exactly what we expect from the possible comeback, to see the station wagon Charger once again. If we can trust rumors, this model could come already in the next year, as the 2023 Dodge Magnum.

However, these are just rumors, while the officials are quiet. Simply, the actual chances to see this model again are really small, especially if we consider that the current-generation Charger is very old and that it will soon be replaced with the new generation, which will probably be heavily electrified. This could mean that the company plans this station wagon for the next generation, but it’s still hard to say if there are any chances for that or not.

2023 Dodge Magnum Design

In any case, the lack of official confirmation doesn’t mean that we can’t speculate about the 2023 Dodge Magnum. So, the first thing that comes to mind is the base design. This aspect is an easy guess. We presume we would once again see a design based on the Charger, with the same mechanics and same chassis setup.

Of course, the key difference would be in the body style. We would see a long, station wagon layout, similar to the previous iteration of Magnum. Naturally, the model would be fitted to the brand’s latest design language and the front end would look largely the same as the one on the Charger.

On the other hand, some believe that the new Magnum would come with the next-generation Charger. This should happen soon and from what we know so far, the legendary muscle car won’t be so muscular anymore. Instead of large gasoline engines, it should come heavily electrified, probably with an all-electric powertrain. So, the 2023 Dodge Magnum would feature the same setup.

Interior

No matter what happens, the 2023 Dodge Magnum interior will follow Charger’s destiny. So, if the company tends to make a vehicle based on the current generation, we expect to see the same dashboard design as in the popular muscle sedan. On the other hand, the all-new model would mean an all-new dash, but once again based on the Charger.

The seating configuration would be the same as well. We would see two rows of seats with generous passenger space in both of them. On the other hand, the key difference would come in terms of the cargo area, which would be significantly bigger, thanks to the station wagon layout.

2023 Dodge Magnum Engines

Once again, we will see a strong correlation with the Charger. So, if the 2023 Dodge Magnum is about to come based on the current generation, the engine lineup would be the same. So, the offer would start with the good-old 3.6-liter V6 engine, which puts out around 300 horsepower. The V8 offer would start with the 5.7-liter HEMI engine that puts out around 370 horses. Finally, the flagship model would come with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which puts out up to 485 horsepower in the Charger. All engines would come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the all-new design would probably mean an all-electric setup, or eventually a plug-in hybrid configuration, with a significantly smaller gasoline engine in the setup.

At this point, the 2023 Dodge Magnum is just a rumor and the actual chances to see it are very small. Therefore, keep this article with a big reserve, even though some rumors suggest we could see the new Magnum already in the next year. If this even happens somehow, we presume that the starting price would go around 30.000 dollars.
