While SUV enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see how the new Bronco is going to look like, Jeep doesn’t just sit and wait but prepares updates for the Wrangler as well. For the next year, FCA will introduce a couple of quite interesting novelties. They won’t be significant, but we are about to see some nice additions in terms of standard equipment, and it looks like these are coming for both 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door and 4 door models.

However, the overall layout will certainly remain the same. After all, we are talking about a quite fresh model, which has been around for just a couple of years. It is still early for a mid-cycle update, so the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door will carry on with a familiar design. Still, the addition of new standard features may impact the price, though significant changes in this aspect aren’t expected either.

2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Changes

When it comes to novelties for the next year, we are about to see a couple of interesting additions to the list of standard equipment. First of all, the most important novelty for the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door 4WD will be the addition of the Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive system, which has been reserved for higher trim levels so far. Furthermore, the Rubicon trim will get the Off-Road Plus system as standard. This is a quite useful feature, as it adjusts the throttle, transmission shift points, and traction control.

When it comes to interior features, a good thing to know is that the Technology Group suite of tech features will become standard in Sport S models. This package includes goodies like a 7-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control and similar things.

Trim Levels

Despite the new standard features, the basic trim level organization will remain the same. Therefore, the base version will come under the Sport badge, and it will come standard with goodies like 17-inch steel wheels, all-season tires, skid plates, tow hooks, fog lights, and a Sunrider folding soft top. On the inside, you may count on things like manual windows and door locks, push-button start, cruise control, a 5-inch touch screen, a USB port, Bluetooth, eight speakers etc.

As we already mentioned, the Sport S model will now come standard with a bigger touchscreen and automatic climate control. The list of standard equipment will also include familiar goodies, such as power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, heated side mirrors, tinted rear windows, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Black & Tan special edition should be in the offer for the next year as well. This version comes with loads of visual upgrades, particularly in terms of a tan soft-top roof, tan cloth seats, all-terrain tires, side steps. The Willys version, equipped with the black paint scheme, Willys decals, mud-terrain tires, rock sliders, larger brakes and similar things should carry on as well.

Finally, there is the highly-capable off-roader that comes in the form of the Rubicon trim level. This one comes equipped with goodies like rock sliders, locking front and rear differentials, 17-inch alloy wheels, and beefy BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.

While there are new standard features to come, the overall design will remain the same. You may count on the same exterior design, which features pretty much the same front end as the four-door model. When it comes to 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door dimensions, things are significantly different. This model is almost 167 inches long and features less than 97 inches in wheelbase. With such numbers, it definitely isn’t as spacious and practical as the four-door models, but definitely shows more off-road potential.

When it comes to powertrain, things will definitely remain the same. While the new PHEV version is on the way, it looks like it will be offered in the four-door model only. On the other side, this one will carry on with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 as the base engine option, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There is also a slightly peppier and notably more efficient 2.0-liter turbo-four in the offer, which is good for about 270 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come standard with a manual gearbox. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door automatic is also available and works better, both in terms of efficiency and driving experience.
