2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Is Getting a Mid-Cycle Update

The current generation of the legendary off-roader has been around for a while and it looks like we could see some changes. While everyone is talking about Wrangler’s electric future, the fact is that we will have to wait for several more years to see such a version. Meanwhile, it looks like the current model will get a facelift, which would include various updates. This refers to both body styles, including the four-door version, which will come as the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

At this point, details are still unavailable but many believe that the special 20th-anniversary version of the Rubicon we saw at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari in Utah last spring may serve as an inspiration. This means we would see some styling updates, particularly at the front. Moreover, various reports also suggest a couple of updates on the inside, on the dashboard and in terms of new materials, tech features etc. On the other hand, we don’t expect changes under the hood.

We expect that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will arrive sometime in the second half of 2023.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to receive a mid-cycle update. This would be a typical facelift, with notable styling changes. What rumors suggest is a new grille design, which would carry on with a seven-bar layout but with a little bit flattened layout. That would make the grille, as well as the whole vehicle, look wider. On the other hand, headlights will probably remain the same. Among other updates, we expect to see new wheel designs, new color options etc.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is about to remain the same. Therefore, you may count on the same suspension setup, with coil springs and solid axles. Also, there is an impressive amount of off-road features, where standard equipment includes four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, skid plates etc. Among upgrades, you can find locking differentials, protective rock rails, all-terrain tires, further suspension upgrades etc.

Interior

Updates on the inside are expected as well. At this point, we are still waiting for the details but it looks like we could see some changes on the dashboard. Furthermore, we count on new materials, new color schemes etc. We could also see a bigger infotainment screen, maybe even with the new Uconnect5 system.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Interior

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will continue with a four-door layout and a pretty spacious cabin. This SUV comes with a couple of pretty spacious rows of seats, which accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, there is a pretty generous cargo area, with 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet with these seats folded.

Features

This update will also bring some changes regarding the standard and available equipment. Still, we presume that the base trim level organization will remain the same. Therefore, base models will continue to be pretty basic, with essential features only. For reference, the current base models come with manual windows and door locks, though there are a few convenience features, such as a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth and two USB ports.

Of course, higher trim levels will gradually add more and more standard equipment, so you will be able to go for upgrades like an 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, satellite radio, a nine-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and remote start.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Engines

The all-electric Wrangler won’t happen in the next few years, so the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited should carry on with familiar powertrain options. Base models will continue with a well-known 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. What’s interesting about this engine is that it is also available with a 6-speed manual, while the rest of the lineup comes with an 8-speed automatic only.

The rest of the lineup includes several units, starting from a 2.0-liter turbo-four that puts out around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Furthermore, there is a diesel version, with a 3.0-liter V6 that puts out 260 horses and 440 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid was introduced last year, with a system based on a turbo-four engine, with a pretty impressive total output of 375 horsepower.

Finally, there is the Rubicon 392 version, equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, with a max output of around 475 horsepower.
