The next year will be very interesting for all truck lovers. The new F-150 is on the way, while Silverado is about to get a new interior. Also, the long-awaited Tundra is under development and should come soon. Of course, FCA won’t just sit and wait. This company also works on one big novelty for the next year. Yes, we are talking about so-much anticipated 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX. Since the premiere of the concept version in 2016, we are waiting for this model and it looks the time has finally come.
At this point, it is still early to talk about details. Still, some of the design solutions are pretty clear. One of them is the powertrain department, as it seems pretty obvious that the new version will feature mightfull Hellcat engine. The new 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Rebel TRX will be focused on off-road performance, so count on all kinds of chassis and suspension upgrades. Of course, visual upgrades, which will accentuate the model’s performance character are expected as well. The new version should hit the market by the end of the year, according to the latest reports.
2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX Engine
The 2021 Ram Rebel 1500 TRX will come with all kinds of upgrades but the first thing that comes to mind is the engine. This model won’t be just a capable off-roader but also an extremely fast truck. Therefore, it seems obvious that the mightful Hellcat engine will find the place under the hood.
Of course, we are talking about a 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine, which can already be found under the hoods of models of Challenger, Charger and Grand Cherokee. The max output will be at least 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, but it won’t be a surprise if we see an additional power boost for this occasion.
This engine usually comes in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission, so we may expect the same unit in this truck, though specially tuned for off-roading. Also, the latest reports suggest we are about to see paddle shifters, while a 4WD layout seems like a natural thing.
Currently, the fastest off-roader is the famous F-150 Raptor. It needs around 5.7 seconds to hit 60 mph. If we consider that this model comes with a twin-turbo V6 engine that is good for “just” 450 horsepower, there’s no doubt that the 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX will be notably faster.
2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX Exterior Upgrades
As a highly-capable off-roader, the 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX will come with all kinds of upgrades, and many of them will be in terms of chassis and suspension. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is suspension, which should come with a lot of performance components, and be adjustable as well. At this point, it is still unclear whether the new version is about to keep air suspension or we are about to see some electric components as well.
In any case, we count on multiple drive modes, which would optimize performances depending on the surface and overall driving conditions. Of course, other things that come to mind are skid plates, off-road tires and other typical off-road goodies. Also, we expect that the new version will be offered only in a crew cab layout.
When it comes to aesthetics, we have no doubt that the new model will come with all kinds of new details, which will accentuate the model’s off-road character. Despite that the concept version was based on the previous generation, it shows a lot of details that can be used in the new model as well. Of course, this refers to all those blacked details, graphics and similar things. Furthermore, we count on unique wheels, exclusive color options etc.
Interior upgrades will come as well. One of the things we’ve already mentioned is the addition of paddle shifters. Allegedly, we won’t see the same paddle shifters that can be found in Challenger. The 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX will rather use bigger ones, made of aluminum, which can be found in Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio models. Some sources also suggest small revisions on the center console. According to them, the current shifter knob will be replaced with a new one, which will be used for drive modes.
Finally, it looks like a large 12-inch vertically positioned touchscreen will be part of the standard equipment as well. Of course, we count on upgrades, on all those performance pages that can be found in models like Challenger Hellcat.
2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX Release Date and Price
This off-roader should hit the market by the end of the year, probably sometime in the last quarter. When it comes to the 2021 Dodge Ram Rebel TRX price, details are still unavailable. Still, we presume that base models will go around 70.000 dollars.
