2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn: Review, Specs, Features

The next year’s model of Ram’s full-size pickup truck is likely to come without more important changes. We are pretty sure we know what to expect, and that’s why we are taking a look at one of the most popular choices today, the 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Known for a great balance between attractive prices and a decent amount of standard equipment, this pickup is the first choice of so many buyers. It also stands out in terms of the styling, as it brings a lot of upgrades over the entry-level Tradesman.

Moreover, this version, which is also known as the Lone Star in Texas, is also desirable because of the various configurations it’s available in. Different bed sizes and cab styles, as well as different engine options, are just some of the things that come to mind. Finally, let’s not forget it can come with a couple of pretty interesting equipment packages.

2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn Design

Design-wise, the 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn continues in a familiar way, with the design that brings a couple of interesting upgrades over the base Tradesman. Visually, you can instantly notice that this trim looks way better. Because, it adds a full load of chrome trim, along with body-color door handles and exclusive 18-inch aluminum wheels.

As for the mechanics, this is exactly the Ram 1500 you would expect. Of course, it comes standard with a multi-link independent rear suspension. That ensures class-leading ride quality, but that’s something the Tradesman has as well. What Tradesman doesn’t have are upgrades like front and rear stabilizer bars, heavy-duty shocks, and front fog lights. Cab and bed configurations are familiar. So, you can choose between Quad and Crew Cab styles, between short and long beds.

Interior

As for the interior design, we’ve just mentioned that there are two cab styles. The Quad Cab features two rows but if the second-row comfort is your priority, the Crew Cab is a way better choice. It features super-generous rear seat legroom, which allows it to accommodate three adults with ease. Also, you can notice a couple of features you don’t get with the Tradesman. For example, cloth upholstery, floor carpeting, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 60/40-split folding rear seat etc.

Finally, there is the Technology Group, available in Crew Cab models, with a head-up display, digital rearview mirror, 12-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-inch touchscreen, 10-speaker audio system, navigation and many more.

2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn Engines

The 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn will continue with two familiar powertrain options on offer. Base models will continue with a 3.6-liter V6 that puts out around 305 horsepower. This one can come with or without the eTorque system, and delivers 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque in both cases.

Both engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
