2024 Chrysler 300: Discontinuation, Redesign, EV

The Chrysler 300 is one of just a few models that are currently available from this company but that could change soon, considering that the 2023 model has just been presented and that it will represent the final production year of the sedan that has been around for almost 18 years. Although we saw a redesign in 2011, the overall design hasn’t changed since 2004, which makes this full-size sedan by far the oldest model in the segment. At this point, the future is still uncertain, so we can only speculate about the 2024 Chrysler 300.

At this point, the officials are still quiet about the future of this sedan. The current generation will soon end its cycle and there are no words about the successor. On the other hand, unofficial reports suggest what seems perfectly logical. Yes, we are talking about an EV successor, which could come in the near future.

2024 Chrysler 300: Is there a successor on the way?

As we’ve just mentioned, the Chrysler 300 we know will soon end its production. After 18 years, this sedan will end its production and details about a successor are still unknown. While the officials are still quiet, unofficial reports suggest that the new generation could go all-electric.

This makes perfect sense, especially if we consider that Chrysler’s current lineup definitely needs new models to remain relevant in the industry. Considering that the automotive world is moving toward full electrification, this design approach seems logical.

We presume that the 2024 Chrysler 300 would continue as a full-size sedan. However, it would finally get a new platform, which would bring an all-electric setup with it. We would expect to see completely new aesthetics, though with a bit of resemblance to the current model, which will soon enough become a legend.

As we’ve just mentioned, if the next generation of this full-size sedan is about to come, it will come in the all-electric form. At this point, it is still early to talk about details, but we presume that more than one configuration would be offered. So, base versions would probably come with a single electric motor on the rear axle, while the higher trims would come with the additional electric motor at the front, with more total power and all-wheel drive.

The battery would have to be large enough to ensure a respectable range, while we also expect Chrysler to bring up the new battery technology, which would also provide competitive charging speeds.

A proper farewell

While the next generation and its all-electric setup are still uncertain, the current model is about to ride out with style. The company prepared a big novelty for the final production year. We are about to see a new powertrain option on offer, a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, with a max output of 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. With all that power, the new version will need just 4.3 seconds to hit 60 mph. Of course, the engine will come in paired with 8-speed automatic transmission, while RWD will be the only drivetrain choice on offer.

The rest of the lineup will continue in a familiar way. Base models will continue with a 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 292 horsepower and offers pretty decent driving dynamics. Also, you can get a version with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, which puts out around 363 horsepower and needs around 5.3 seconds to hit 60.

2024 Chrysler 300 Release Date and Price

As we already mentioned, the next-generation 2024 Chrysler 300 is still uncertain, even though some sources speculate about its arrival already in the next year. On the other hand, 2023 is already available on the market with a starting price of around 35.000 dollars.
