2023 Jeep Wrangler Might Go All-Electric!?

Today’s market is crazy about capable off-roaders and that’s why Wrangler’s sales have been pretty impressive in the last few years. However, that doesn’t mean that the iconic model won’t receive changes in the following years. Moreover, the company wants to strengthen up its position and one of the ways is to offer a new version. From what we know so far, Jeep is preparing an all-electric powertrain and if we can trust rumors, this SUV could be one of the first models to include it in the offer. Allegedly, the all-electric version could come already like the 2023 Jeep Wrangler.

At this point, this is just a rumor, so take it with a big reserve. On the other hand, the rest of the lineup should continue in the same way, which means you may count on familiar design characteristics. This SUV offers spectacular off-road performance and also comes with an impressive engine lineup. We also like its well-designed seats, while the infotainment system is very easy to use.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Design

When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler definitely won’t change that much. The current generation has been for a while but still has a lot of great things to show. After all, things aren’t changing that fast in the segment of BoF SUVs. So, what we expect to see is a familiar design, which includes two familiar body styles in the offer, 2-door and 4-door versions.

The styling changes could be minimal, in terms of new color options and similar tweaks. Of course, we count on a variety of versions on the offer, including the most capable models like Rubicon, Mojave etc. These versions come with even more serious off-road hardware and offer unparalleled off-road performance.

Interior and Features

Once again, we don’t expect changes. So, the cabin design should remain the same, which isn’t a bad thing at all. This SUV looks pretty nice from the inside, despite its rugged nature. The materials are fine, while the build quality is good. Four-door models even offer respectable cargo volume.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Interior

Besides nice materials and good build quality, this cabin is also characterized by a lot of standard and available features. We presume that the 2023 Jeep Wrangler won’t feature too many changes compared to the current model. There are standard features like a 5-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and a USB port. Among options, some of the highlights are goodies like 7- and 8.4-inch touch screens, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, additional USB ports, navigation, a removable hardtop, a power-folding soft top, a forward-facing off-road camera, power windows and locks, air conditioning, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, and remote start.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Engines

We presume that the engine lineup won’t change. Therefore, base models should carry on with a good-old 3.6-liter V6, which features a max output of 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Also, there is a smaller and more efficient 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Despite the less power, this engine is actually nicer to drive, due to more torque.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler should continue with a diesel option as well. Of course, we are talking about a capable 3.0-liter V6, which puts out around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. There is also the recently introduced version with a huge 6.4-liter V8, which puts out pretty impressive 470 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, there is another recently introduced version, equipped with a plug-in hybrid setup. This one features a 2.0-liter turbo-four, in a combination with an electric motor. The total output goes up to 375 horsepower, which makes this version the second most powerful in the lineup.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Could Go All-Electric

As we already mentioned, rumors suggest that the 2023 Jeep Wrangler could come with an all-electric powertrain. The fact is that the company is working on electrification but we are not sure if the Wrangler is going to be the first one to get it, as some rumors suggest. Also, we won’t speculate about numbers and capabilities either.

On the other hand, we may presume that the all-electric Wrangler would come with a couple of exclusive styling details, in order to accentuate its all-electric nature. Also, this version should come in a 4-door layout only, just like the new plug-in hybrid model.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Release Date and Price

Whether the new all-electric version comes or not, we don’t expect that the 2023 Jeep Wrangler could arrive before the second half of 2022. Models from the current lineup shouldn’t feature bigger price changes, so the starting price should go around $29.000 for the 2-door model and $32.000 for the four-door version.
