After a full 12 years of production, the Journey has been discontinued last year. However, it looks like it could come back already in the next year. Some sources like Autoevolution already came with rendering photos and speculate about the new model. There are several reasons why we believe that this nameplate could come back. One of them is the fact that the next-generation Durango is about to switch to a body-on-frame platform, which leaves plenty of space for a mid-size three crossover. Obviously, the 2023 Dodge Journey looks like the best candidate to fill this empty slot. At this point, the officials are quiet.
If the nameplate is about to come back, we know what to expect from it. It should come as a large three-row crossover, like a capable three-row family hauler, in accordance with its nameplate. We expect that the new model could arrive already in the second half of the next year.

What is the Crossroad package on a Dodge Journey?
Journey SUV offered a lot of optional features, like every Jeep. The most anticipated model for the upcoming version is the SRT. But, fans are already asking about the Crossroad package. Alongside the GT model, this was the most popular upgrade for the SUV. The 2023 Dodge Journey Crossroad will bring a unique driving experience thanks to several upgrades. Special wheels, blacked-out theme, and the latest Uconnect 5.0 infotainment system with premium audio will be enough for some fans. But, there are a few of them complaining about the engine. Journey Crossroad used a 2.4-liter mill and it was the main difference between this model and the Journey GT with a mighty Pentastar V6.

UPDATE: Journey SRT Concept
One of the best-known designers of future vehicles, Kleber Silva, posted a few concept images of the all-new Journey. It doesn’t mean too much when someone outside the company shows its vision of the upcoming SUV. But, this info is important since bosses already spoke about the potential comeback. That didn’t happen in 2022, nor it will in 2023. But, we still don’t give up on 2024 Dodge Journey and the SRT model.
This is the top-of-the-range version. It might feature a V8 engine, but it won’t be the Hellcat. We even doubt in a 6.4-liter Hemi unit. Still, the family SUV with V8 power is quite a good offer. A 5.7-l mill can deliver 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. Plus, several other upgrades are going to enhance overall look and driving experience.
