2021 Jeep Patriot: Rumor or Something More

The original version of this small SUV was in production for a quite long time, but the successor never came. In the final years of production of the only generation so far, it was expected that both Patriot and Compass will be discontinued. However, the Compass came redesigned eventually. On the other side, this one has been put on hold, but that doesn’t mean there is no chance to see it once again in the future. At this point, we are still in the domain of rumors, but there is a big chance to see this model already in the next year, as 2021 Jeep Patriot. Of course, we would see a completely new design, with impressive characteristics in various aspects, particularly in terms of the off-road performance.

Just like the original version, the new one is also expected to share a lot of things with the Compass. Once again, we would see a more rugged iteration of the compact crossover, with accentuated off-road character. Moreover, some sources also suggest a more distinctive layout this time, though we should take this with a big reserve. Others believe it could come as a special trim level of the current-generation Compass.

All in all, the following paragraphs are nothing but rumors, so take them with a big reserve.

In the past, this model was in a pretty tight connection with Compass. The two models shared so many things, while there were many similarities as well. For example, the size was pretty much the same, which the styling was just a little bit different, where Patriot features a little bit more rugged appearance. The same thing could happen with the 2021 Jeep Patriot, although some sources suggest a different scenario.

When it comes to the new model, we presume it would ride on the same platform as the current Compass. Moreover, mechanics would be largely the same, while the styling would be an aspect that brings a dose of distinctiveness. What does this actually mean, it’s hard to say. We are getting all kinds of different reports from various sides.

Off-Road Trim

One of the possible scenarios would be to see this model as a special trim level of the current Compass, designed to provide better off-road capabilities. The 2021 Jeep Patriot off-road character would be emphasized in many ways, starting from all those off-road upgrades that can be found in the Trailhawk model, which already comes fully-loaded with such goodies. Some of the highlights are things like Active Drive Low four-wheel-drive system, all-season all-terrain tires with 17-inch wheels, an off-road suspension system, two tow hooks, and additional skid plates. This model would come with a couple of more upgrades, particularly on an even more off-road-oriented suspension. The 2021 Jeep Patriot ground clearance would be a little bit higher, while we could also see new dampers.

Naturally, the upgrade would also include a couple of distinctive visual details, which would emphasize the model’s off-road character. This would include things like exclusive wheels, blacked accents and similar things. The interior design would also come with a couple of distinctive details and features, though the overall layout would remain largely the same, especially when it comes to size and dimensions.

The same things go for the list of standard equipment, which would include most of the things that can be found on standard Compass models. This includes tech goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, as well as optional bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen, premium sound system and more.

2021 Jeep Patriot Engine

The aspect that seems pretty clear is the one that refers to what’s happening under the hood. Obviously, the first pick would be a well-known 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit, which delivers around 180 horsepower. In the Compass, this engine comes in pair with three different transmissions, depending on the trim level. We presume this model would come with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Of course, we also count on standard AWD, which means 2021 Jeep Patriot mpg ratings would be a little bit lower, probably around 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

The current gasoline engine isn’t spectacular at all when it comes to performances. Therefore, there is a big chance that FCA will offer its new PHEV system in the new Patriot as well. A new system is based on a 1.3-liter turbo-four engine and delivers a pretty impressive 240 horsepower and offers around 30 miles in the all-electric range.

2021 Jeep Patriot Release Date and Price

If we can trust the latest rumors, this version could arrive already in the next year. At this moment, the 2021 Jeep Patriot is a mystery, though we presume base models would go around 23/24.000 dollars.

The company is still quiet on this matter, so take the Patriot comeback with a lot of reserve.

Timothy has been an FCA enthusiast way before the two major companies merged. With an innate passion for muscle cars from the golden era, Ram trucks and anything that has a huge engine under the hood, it’s not hard to presume that Timothy is a true motorhead. On the other side, classic Italian sports cars have always had a special place in his heart, as a sense of style and sophistication is an integral part of his persona. For Timothy, FCA is a perfect match.
