Jeep Gladiator Hercules: What We Know So Far

The Hercules has been in talks for a long time, pretty much since the launch of a new pickup truck. However, it remained nothing more than a rumor up to these days but many believe things could change soon, especially with the introduction of the Wrangler 392. We believe that it’s just a matter of time when this monstrous V8 engine will find its place under the Gladiator’s hood.

At this point, the officials are still quiet and the only thing we can do is to rely on rumors. As we already mentioned, one of the upgrades could be a new, more powerful name. Also, we have no doubt this model would be extremely off-road capable, with all the goodies that come with the Rubicon trim, if not even more.

Jeep Gladiator Hercules Design

It’s not hard to conclude that this model will put focus on performance. It should be the toughest and most capable Gladiator on the offer, so there’s no doubt we are about to see loads of exclusive features. One of the things that come to mind first is a full load of off-road hardware. The Rubicon already offers pretty much everything you can imagine in an off-road pickup, so we don’t see how the Jeep Gladiator Hercules would outshine its closest relative. Most likely, the list of features would be similar, while the Hercules would put attention to getting more muscles.

So, what you may expect from the Jeep Gladiator Hercules is pretty serious hardware. Of course, 4WD will be standard, as well as things like locking front and rear differentials, Fox off-road shocks, electronic sway bar disconnect, 17-inch wheels, 33-inch all-terrain tires, rock rails and many more. Some sources suggest further chassis reinforcements but don’t come with more precise details.

Jeep Gladiator Hercules Engine

Without any doubt, the Rubicon offers impressive off-road performance but many experts consider its engine the biggest drawback. Simply, the well-known Pentastar V6 may be decent in terms of capabilities, but it is still far away from leading off-roaders like F-150 Raptor. Therefore, the biggest upgrade on the Jeep Gladiator Hercules should be under the hood.

After the arrival of Wrangler 392, things seem pretty clear in this aspect. We presume that the Hercules would use the same engine, which is a good-old 6.4-liter HEMI V8. This unit puts out around 470 horsepower, which is a pretty impressive amount of power for a mid-size pickup, so there is no doubt that the overall performance would be excellent. Of course, the engine would come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

Styling

Besides significant mechanical upgrades, this model should also stand out in terms of aesthetics. At this point, the details are still unavailable, but we count on all kinds of unique solutions. Some of the first things that come to mind are wheels and bumpers. We also count on exclusive color options and some fancy graphics.

On the other side, the overall look will certainly remain the same, which means a recognizable Wrangler-like styling, which has a pretty big impact on the overall appeal. Numerous accessories are expected as well, while the 2-door version of Gladiator won’t happen, even in this case.

Interior

Exclusive interior details are certain too. At this point, we don’t know the details but we could definitely see things like unique color schemes and materials, as well as some additional features like different steering wheel and pedals, upgraded seats etc.

On the other side, the overall cabin layout will remain the same. Just like the rest of the lineup, the Jeep Gladiator Hercules would also come exclusively in a crew-cab layout, with two rows of seats and plenty of passenger room. Chances to see 2-door short-wheelbase models are pretty much zero.

We presume that this version will come with Gladiator’s signature removable doors and top. This may be part of standard equipment or just an option. Since we are talking about a range-topping model, the level of standard equipment should be pretty high.

This includes tech features as well. We presume that the Jeep Gladiator Hercules would come standard with things like an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth etc. We also count on automatic climate control, power accessories, keyless entry etc.

Jeep Gladiator Hercules Release Date and Price

While some suggest that the Jeep Gladiator Hercules could arrive soon, the fact is that the officials are still quiet about it. So, the actual chances to see it in the near future aren’t big at all. If this model eventually arrives, it won’t be cheap. We estimate the starting price of around 75.000 dollars.
