2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Review: Specs, Features, Price

One of the things we all like about the Wrangler is its super-high level of customization options. There are two body styles, several powertrain options and a whole range of trim levels, which includes base Sport models, off-road-oriented Rubicon and Sahara models, as well as a pretty luxurious High Altitude trim. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys is one of the models on offer and it is a perfect choice for those who are looking for a value-for-money solution.

This trim level is positioned above Sport and Sport S models and adds a couple of valuable features. We also like it because of several exclusive wheels, as well as a generous amount of standard equipment. Furthermore, this trim level can be configured with four powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Design

In terms of the overall design, things aren’t much different compared to the regular Wrangler. There is a familiar styling, which hasn’t changed for decades, as well as the same chassis and suspension setup, with solid axles and a standard four-wheel-drive system. Of course, you can choose between two familiar body styles, optional removable roof panels and doors etc.

Furthermore, this trim level adds a couple of exclusive styling details, starting from LED headlights and foglights. Also, you can notice a long of blacked details, starting from 17-inch aluminum wheels, black grille, bumpers etc. Finally, there are dark-tinted rear windows.

Interior

On the other hand, the cabin design doesn’t bring too many exclusive details. The dashboard and overall cabin layout look pretty familiar, while a good thing to know is that you have a choice between two color schemes. You can pick either a completely black color scheme or a combination of black and Heritage Tan colors.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Interior

As we already mentioned, there are two body styles on offer, starting from the two-door model. That version isn’t particularly generous from the inside and the second row doesn’t offer much space. Moreover, the cargo area is pretty small and offers just 13 cubic feet behind the second row and 32 cubic feet of the total cargo space. On the other hand, the four-door model is way more generous with space and accommodates five adults with ease. Furthermore, the cargo area offers around 32 cubic feet behind the second row and 74 cubic feet of the total cargo space.

Features

When it comes to standard equipment, this model offers a decent amount of tech and convenience features. Some of the highlights are goodies like power-adjustable and heated side mirrors and remote keyless entry. The list of standard equipment includes cloth upholstery and dual-zone climate control, while the driver’s seat is height-adjustable. When it comes to tech features, a 7-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio and a 9-speaker audio system.

A rearview camera is the only standard safety feature, but you can opt for more advanced systems, such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, forward collision warning etc.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Engines

The powertrain lineup consists of four options. Base models come with a good-old 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. What’s great about this engine is that can be paired to either a six-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. The same engine is also available in a variant with an eTorque mild-hybrid system, which has a highly positive impact on fuel efficiency.

The third powertrain option is a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It feels more capable than the V6, because of the additional torque, which is also available at lower revs.

Finally, there is the plug-in hybrid, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, single electric motor and a 17.3-kWh battery pack. The combined output goes around 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, while you may also count on 21 miles of range in the EV mode.

Unlike the base engine, the rest of the powertrain lineup comes only with 8-speed automatic transmission.
