2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle Preview: What to Expect

Despite being 14 years old, the current generation of Dodge’s pony is still making impressive sales numbers. However, one era of the automotive industry is definitely coming to an end, so the muscle cars will be gone pretty soon, at least in the known form. Instead, we will be seeing electric muscles and while purists are still wondering if this is going to work at all, Dodge is preparing the next generation of its iconic nameplate and from what we know so far, it will come as the 2024 Dodge Challenger Muscle.

At this point, we know that the company is definitely working on the next generation. However, we still don’t know many details about the vehicle, whether it’s about performance or design. Still, if we can rely on our insiders, it looks like the company is preparing something really interesting.

2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle Design

Let’s start with the overall design first. Although it’s still early for details, we are pretty sure that the overall design will stick to the proven recipe. We expect to see a typical two-door coupe design, which has been characterizing this nameplate for decades. However, the new model will have nothing in common with the outgoing generation. Instead, the company is working on a new platform, which will bring lots of interesting designs and technical solutions.

Of course, the main thing about the new architecture is that it will be designed for an all-electric powertrain. Furthermore, it will be significantly lighter compared to the current model. With a new suspension and chassis setup, as well as the lower center of gravity (thanks to the battery pack), we have no doubt that the handling and overall performances will be improved as well.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, we’ve already seen a couple of renders on the internet and they all show the same thing. Of course, we expect nothing but a modern approach to the legendary design, which has been evolving for decades. Even the current model shares many styling cues with the original, so we see no reason why the 2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle would do any different.

Therefore, we presume that the overall shape won’t change much, while the front end will resemble the original a lot. Of course, we expect to see a lot of modern and futuristic details as well, which will accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.

Interior

Of course, it’s still way too early to talk about interior details. Still, if we consider that the all-electric Challenger will probably keep the same or similar proportions, as well as the body style, as the current model, it’s legal to expect a pretty similar amount of space as well. Naturally, we are about to see a typical coupe configuration but keep in mind that the Challenger has always been very generous with the second-row space, so we have big expectations from the new model.

On the other hand, details about the dashboard design and overall aesthetics are yet to come. Still, we presume that the cabin will be designed in a futuristic manner, with a simplistic design approach, lots of screens and tech features, etc.

2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle Powertrain

We have finally come to the most interesting aspect of the 2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle. At this point, all we know is that the next generation will feature an all-electric powertrain. Other than that, we can only speculate. Of course, one of the first things that come to mind is the drivetrain. We presume that base versions will feature rear-wheel drive, while versions with electric motors on both axles are expected as well.

At this point, it’s early to talk about power figures, but we have no doubt that the most capable version will be able to hit 60 in less than 3 seconds. Also, the range should be respectable and competitive.

One of the most interesting things about the 2024 Dodge Challenger eMuscle will be the transmission. Normally, electric cars feature one or two gears, due to the massive torque and power in an extremely wide rev range. However, Dodge wants to make the new Challenger as exciting to drive as the previous generation. For that reason, it will boost the sound and offer a transmission with multiple gears, even though there is no practical need for such a design solution. We have no doubt that many enthusiasts will be happy to hear this.
