Chrysler has big plans for the future and the Airflow concept is the best proof of that. The concept car was presented last year and the company already come up with another one, with refreshed styling and other design solutions. According to rumors, the serial production could start already in the next year, though the officials are still quiet about the launch. In any case, the 2023 Chrysler Airflow will happen soon and it will represent the company in the segment of compact all-electric SUVs
At this point, we know a lot of details about the all-new EV SUV. Of course, the concept shows a pretty attractive styling but we don’t expect things to change too much in the serial production. On the other hand, the interior design may be toned down a little bit. When it comes to the powertrain, we count on a dual-motor setup.
2023 Chrysler Airflow Design
At this point, we can only judge by the look of the concept car. This version looks amazing. It brings a new design language, which doesn’t have anything in common with the current Chrysler models, which was pretty much expected. You can notice a lot of sharp lines, narrow headlights and other futuristic shapes. The overall profile is pretty sleek, while massive 22-inch wheels make the SUV look really sporty.
On the other hand, we don’t know much about the chassis and suspension setup. We presume it will be pretty advanced and provide a smooth and comfortable ride. After all, this model needs to compete with electric crossovers like Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E etc.
Interior
On the inside, you can notice an extremely futuristic design approach. The concept comes with a full load of screens, which cover pretty much the entire dashboard. You can notice three massive screens – for the driver, for the passenger, and for the infotainment system, as well as in the second row. However, we presume that the production version will be toned down a little bit and feature a slightly more conventional overall layout.
Speaking of the layout, the concept came with a 2+2 seating configuration. We believe that the production version, at least the base one, will come with the rear bench instead of separated seats, while captain’s chairs might be offered in higher trim levels.
2023 Chrysler Airflow Powertrain
We have finally come to the most interesting aspect of the car. From what we know so far, all versions will come with a dual-motor setup, with one electric motor on each axle. Each unit will feature a max output of 201 horsepower, though the company hasn’t come up with the combined output. We presume it will be slightly lower than 402 hp. In any case, we count on strong AWD performance, with plenty of immediate torque.
Besides plenty of power and strong acceleration, this crossover should also offer a pretty respectable max range. According to the officials, the production version will feature a massive 118-kWh battery pack, which should ensure a max range of somewhere between 350 and 400 miles.
2023 Chrysler Airflow Release Date and Price
At this point, the 2023 Chrysler Airflow is still just a concept and even though some sources suggest it could arrive already in the next year, we can also hear reports that the new EV will come in 2024, as the 2025 model. Once it arrives, we expect it will cost around $50.000. We believe that the range-topping version could go over 60.000 dollars. When the new EV arrives, we presume that the competition will become even tougher. Currently, models like Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y are seen as possible rivals.
