The recent auto show in Chicago has brought a lot of interesting novelties and when it comes to FCA, one of the highlights was definitely the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. Of course, it’s no completely new. We are not talking about a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica redesign, but rather about a mid-cycle update, which seems natural considering that the current generation has been around for about four years.
Still, that doesn’t mean that the new version comes with an insufficient amount of changes. Novelties are everywhere and every aspect gets updated. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the styling, which makes this minivan look much better. Also, there is a new luxury trim called Pinnacle, as well as the new all-wheel-drive version. Also, an important thing to mention is that 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid isn’t a separate trim anymore, but rather an optional powertrain available in all versions.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica Facelift
Among numerous changes that have been presented recently, those visual highlights are definitely the most notable. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica comes with novelties from all sides. Of course, the most prominent changes are those at the front. You can easily notice a pair of new headlights, as well as a new, much bigger grille. Finally, there is a new front bumper, which features sharper lines, gets new fog lights and features sharper lines. Generally, the new face looks much sportier and you can also notice large air-intake surfaces.
On the other end, you can notice new taillights, which get a completely new design and now span the full width of this minivan. Finally, there are several new wheelsets, in a range from 17 to 20 inches in diameter. Those would be the most notable styling changes for the new Pacifica, while the overall shape remains the same.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica Interior Changes
When it comes to the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica interior, there are some pretty interesting novelties too. The first thing we should mention is that there is a new touchscreen, with 10.1 inches diagonally. The new screen isn’t just notably bigger, but also comes with the newest, 5.0 version of FCA’s excellent Uconnect infotainment system. The new system comes with loads of interesting novelties, including Chrysler’s FamCAM, Amazon Alexa and available wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On the other side, the overall cabin design remains the same. You may count on a familiar layout, which comes with up to 8 seats and 140 cubic feet of total cargo space. Just like the previous versions, rear seats fold flat, even in AWD models. On the other side, that’s not the case with the Hybrid version, but these models offer the possibility to completely remove seats in the second row.
New Pinnacle Trim
Another interesting novelty we should mention is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle. It is a new, range-topping trim level, which offers upgrades not just in terms of standard equipment, but also in terms of the overall luxury. Therefore, you can easily notice all kinds of new, premium-like materials on the dash and around the cabin. Some of the key features are things like Nappa leather seats, second-row captain’s chairs pillows and a new, Ultra console, which is a new center console that provides more functionality and convenience.
The rest of the lineup includes familiar trim names, such as Touring, Touring L and Limited.
Safety Features
There are also some nice updates in terms of safety, so the new version comes with more features on the list of standard equipment. Every model comes standard with things like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high beams. Additionally, you can get things like parking sensors, park assist etc.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica Powertrain
One of the biggest novelties for the next year is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica AWD version. The new drive system is available in all models with a gasoline engine. Speaking of the gasoline engine, you may count on a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which in this case delivers around 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. In standard FWD models, this engine returns around 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Of course, these ratings will be slightly lower in new AWD models.
When it comes to the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, things have also remained the same. You can count on the same V-based system, which delivers around 260 horsepower. This Pacifica comes with a 15-kWh battery pack, which ensures an all-electric range of around 30 miles.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica Release Date and Price
When it comes to the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica release date, the new model will most likely hit the market in the last quarter of the year. However, order books will probably open earlier. When it comes to the price, more details should be known soon.
